Machineseeker Group acquires the classifieds platform and its English version

The Machineseeker Group expands its portfolio on February 1st 2023 by the online platform With this acquisition, the operator of marketplaces for used machinery is adding another traditional brand to its range.

The online platforms and the German original were previously operated by the renowned specialized media publisher Vogel and can draw on a history of more than 100 years in their main aspects. The marketplaces’ offer includes several thousand industrial machines of various types, which are presented not only online but also in numerous print media of the publisher Vogel. “This takeover makes it even easier for our sellers. One point of contact enables them to reach over 15 million buyers of used machinery per month!”, says Sven Schmidt, Chief Marketing Officer of the Machineseeker Group.

Through the acquisition of the classifieds portals, which have been successful for several decades, the presence of Machineseeker marketplaces continues to grow. Sellers of used machinery not only gain new, exclusive clientele, but also automatically list their products on other well-known platforms with a high level of awareness and trust in the market. Prospective buyers, on the other hand, benefit from an extended range of machines on the various online marketplaces of the German company group. In addition, they save significant amounts of time when searching for used machinery, as the market’s offer is now concentrated on the four renowned platforms of the Machineseeker Group.

The takeover of and its English subsidiary is another component in the growth strategy of the Machineseeker Group. ” We can expect that, analogous to other industries, there will only be about four to five relevant marketplaces for used machinery in ten years’ time. Small suppliers in particular will be pushed out of the market,” says Thorsten Muschler, founder and Managing Director of the Machineseeker Group.

With four acquisitions in the last five years, the consolidation of the market for used machinery continues. Through the mergers with the Polish competitor MaszynyUzywane and the online platform Werktuigen, leading used machinery marketplace in the Benelux countries, the company group was able to further expand its international presence. Since the acquisition of TruckScout24, the Machineseeker Group has also been active in the trade with used vehicles.
