2017 was the most successful year in the history of Machineseeker. The marketplace tripled the number of visitors in 2017 and in tandem with our German platform Maschinensucher, reaches out to over 1.3 million prospective buyers per month and mediates more than 140,000 sales inquiries for used machinery . In 2017, used machines with a total value of greater than 8 billion euros were inquired via our platform – an increase of more than 60% over the previous year.
Over the course of the year we released 13 new country versions, which makes Machineseeker now available in 66 national versions. At the beginning of the year, we expanded our offices in Essen by one floor and thus created space for new employees. Currently there are 20 employees working on the continuous development of our platform as well as our support.
Among other things we introduced the Machineseeker Trust Seal which enables prospective buyers to spot a trustworthy dealer at first glance. Not only buyers benefit: our analyses indicate that the increased confidence not only leads to more inquiries from buyers, but ultimately to more sales. Moreover, does our sample sales contract simplify the international sales process. The model contract, which is available in nine languages, is also bilingual and thus provides security for buyers and sellers of used machines – both national and cross-border.
